June 25 the award ceremony of winners of the Internet-based beauty contest Miss Atom-2008 was held in frames of the 1-st International Forum ATOMCON-2008 in Moscow. The contest of girls working at nuclear enterprises of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus was held for the fifth time by Nuclear.Ru. Its results were scored on the eve of the International Women’s Day, March 8. This contest continued the tradition and set another record of the number of participants. This year it was participated by 340 girls representing over 70 nuclear industry enterprises and organizations.
The on-line voting held in early March gave the top first to Yulia Nagaeva of TVEL (Russia), second to Asel Utibayeva of Kazatomprom (Kazakhstan) and third to Tatiana Vdovina of PA Start (Russia). Besides, ten Miss Atom-2008 contestants got special prizes from nuclear companies and organizations. Also, the Contest Administration provided several girls with encouragement prizes. The Miss Atom-2008 winners award ceremony was attended by senior managers and representatives of State Corporation Rosatom, Atomenergoprom, TVEL, Kazatomprom.
Greeting the contest winners, Atomenergoprom’s deputy director Dzhumberi Tkebuchava said: “Our industry today is in “renaissance”. Big challenges are facing us. It’s our pleasure and benefit that such beautiful girls are giving us a hand in this difficult job. They are the beautiful face of the industry. We’ll do our best to make our industry as respected and valued as representatives of the fair sex. Be happy, beautiful and loved!” This year Atomenergoprom was the general sponsor of the beauty contest with Kazatomprom and Atompromresursy being other sponsors. The contest partners were Atomexpo, ECC Rosatomstroy, and SBCD Expo. The award ceremony was held with support of Keune of Holland and image and beauty chain saloons Amsterdam.
