The Miss Atom Beauty Contest is an international Web-based project, a sort of the Nuclear.Ru web-portal’s visiting card (www.nuclear.ru).

The first contest was held in 2004 and right away won extensive attention of the Russian and post-Soviet nuclear community.

The industry took this fresh, uncommon idea with a great interest. Enterprises, “nuclear” cities and nuclear power plants today run beauty contests of their own but the Miss Atom is the first and only industry-wide Web-based project for “nuclear” belles, and we have the full right to be proud of this.

The Miss Atom can be tried for not only by girls from Russia but from the former USSR as well. Contestants should be employees of nuclear power plants, nuclear industry facilities, companies that partner with nuclear industry, research institutes, scientific centers, students and post graduates of nuclear-related educational establishments.

The contest is run annually in February-March. Girls who are in place their data forms and pictures on the Web, the Miss Atom website. The second stage rates the winner and runners up through an open on-line voting.

Miss Atom contest results are summed up on the eve of the International Women’s Day. The award ceremony for the winner and runners up, special prize winners is traditionally held in Rosatom.
